Austin, TX (September 28, 2019) The Bold travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on Portland Timbers 2 tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM in the first match of their 4 game road trip. The last meeting between these two clubs ended with a 2-2 at Bold Stadium.
Austin’s Own enter the match confident after a dominant performance defeating Las Vegas Lights FC 4-1 last Sunday. A Kleber hat trick and an Andre Lima goal helped The Bold finish their final regular-season home game in style. The win was crucial in holding on to a playoff spot.
Cameron Knowles will be happy with his team after a 6-3 win over local rivals Tacoma Defiance to end a two-game losing streak. The match is a perfect sample of T2’s season. Portland sits sixth in the entire USL Championship in goals with 56. They are also tied tenth in goals conceded with 54.
Marcelo Serrano would look to exploit Portland’s leaky defense to turn around The Bold’s recent road woes but will need to be careful not to be on the wrong end of their dynamic offense. Portland leading goalscorer, Dairon Asprilla, scored against Tacoma last weekend and looks to continue his form with an impressive nine goals in nine games. Though, there is no guarantee if Asprilla will be in either Portland Timbers 2 or Portland Timbers squad on Sunday.
