FIRST HALF GOALS FROM RENO CANCEL OUT KLEBER'S EIGHTH OF THE SEAON.

Austin, TX (September 15, 2019) Reno 1868 FC defeated Austin Bold FC 1-2 at Bold Stadium on Sunday night. Referee Guido Gonzales awarded Reno a first half penalty, and Corey Hertzog converted from the spot. The Bold leveled the match with a Kleber Giacomazzi goal slotted from a corner. Reno responded quickly with a Daniel Musovski game winner two minutes later. The home side hit the post twice in the second half in the search for an equalizer, but couldn't capitalize on their chances. Reno 1868 left Austin with all three points.

Reno 1868 FC took the lead in the 20' through a Hertzog penalty. Referee Gonzales awarded a penalty to Reno when Bold defender Thomas di Villardi and Hertzog made contact in the penalty area. Hertzog took the ensuing penalty kick and converted with a right footed shot to give the visitors a one goal advantage.

Kleber leveled the match for The Bold in the 41' from a Xavi Baez corner. Kris Trypak's flicked on header at the near post found Kleber at the back post to tap home with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner past Reno goalkeeper Matt Bersano. The goal was Kleber second of the week and eighth of the season.

Two minutes later, the visitors retook the lead with a 43' Mosovski goal. Sam Gleadle made a long run from the visitors' penalty area through the Bold defense to the final third and delivered a cross to the penalty spot. Musovski was first to meet the ball and scored with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Austin Bold FC came out strong in the second half in search of an equalizer. They outshot their opponents 20-9 and controlled 75.2% possession. The home side almost drew the match level, when Andre Lima's hit the post in the 53' and Ema Twumasi long distance shot also hit the woodwork in the 78'. Unfortunately, The Bold couldn't find the back of the net and Reno 1868 FC left Austin with the victory.

After the match, Tyrpak spoke on the night's result.

"We switched off for a couple of seconds two times today, and they punished us. They are a good team, and that's what they can do. Overall I feel we dominated the play. We had the majority of possession, plenty of chances, and tons of corner kicks. We capitalized on one. If we were able to capitalize on a few more of those, it's a different game."

Tyrpak talked of the Bold's game plan for their next match against Las Vegas Lights FC.

"We need to build off what we did today. We played well today. The result doesn't reflect that. If we can continue to up our game, next week we can have a better result."

Austin's Own are back at Bold Stadium this Sunday to take on Las Vegas Lights FC at 6:00 PM for the LAST regular season home game. Come out and enjoy fireworks and giveaways at Fan Appreciation Night! Get your tickets here!
