AUSTIN, Texas — In front of a sellout crowd of 5,803 fans, Austin Bold FC (1-1-1) defeated San Antonio FC (0-3-1), 1-0, to collect the first win in club history and take the first edition of the Central Texas Derby.

Striker Kléber notched his second goal of the season, burying the ball after defender Sean McFarlane deflected a corner kick toward the back post.

The Bold had several chances prior to Kléber’s 77th-minute effort but had trouble capitalizing. Midfielder Xavier Báez narrowly just missed on a pair of opportunities, including a shot in the 12th minute from inside the goal area that sailed wide of the left post.

Midfielder Valeri Saramutin had a solid chance to score the go-ahead goal in the 73rd minute with a shot from outside the box, but the ball sailed high and wide.

Diego Restrepo picked up his second clean sheet of the season, placing him in a tie for second in the league. The clean sheet was also the 18th of his USL Championship career, the 20th-most in league history.

ABFC will returns to the pitch on Saturday, April 6 with a contest in Sacramento, Calif. against Republic FC. Kickoff is slated for 9:30 p.m. CT and the match can be viewed digitally on ESPN+.
